History
I’ve always moved a lot, but never loved to “exercise.” Left to my own devices, I would rather read a book while drinking tea and snuggling a dog next to me on the sofa. True - I do enjoy working and being productive, and that too can displace any desire to “exercise.”
Shortly after Greg and I married in 2003 I gave up my beloved Nia practice to become a member at Greg’s gym, under the theory that I would go there and work out too: we would do it together, and I would be in better shape. That was a failed experiment demonstrated by the onslaught of a hefty Colorado winter that dumped weekly snow on our home that required shoveling to maintain any semblance of life and to get the kids to school. My body HURT. BAD!
I went back to Nia and took the white belt training in 2010, at a different juncture that threatened to take away my 6X/week practice. Two weeks later I taught my first Nia classes and I’ve never looked back, except to tell the story. Ageless Grace was soon to follow and it appealed to my inner scientist in the pursuit of understanding new developments in the area of Neuroplasticity. Then SilverSneakers and Aquatic Fitness. I love it all and bring the best of everything I’ve learned to all of my classes and programs!
